Description

Ps William HC preaching from Nehemiah 6:1-7:4.

In Nehemiah 6:1 – 7:4 we see:

Three personal attacks:

  • Public accusations (Neh. 6:1–9)
  • Deceptive invitations (Neh. 6:10–14)
  • Ongoing opposition (Neh. 6:15–19)

Two personal responses:

  • Don't be shocked – pray! (Neh. 6:9, 14)
  • Don't give up – persevere! (Neh. 7:1–4)

One perpetual truth: Fear God > people (Neh. 7:2, Prov. 9:10, 2 Cor. 5:9)

Good news… Christ was personally attacked for you.
"The men who were guarding Jesus began mocking and beating him. They blindfolded him and demanded, “Prophesy! Who hit you?” And they said many other insulting things to him." – Luke 22:63–65

For reflection:

  1. What personal attacks do you need God to strengthen you for right now?
  2. Who are the enemies of God that you are afraid of today? What truths about God and His Son will help us to respond faithfully?
